Welcome to Aalborg! On this page, you will find useful information on how to get to the city and travel between venues during the CSIT World Sports Games 2027.
Aalborg is located in the Northern part of Denmark - North Jutland. Aalborg is easy to reach from the rest of Denmark, Scandinavia, and Europe by plane, train, bus, or by car from the north as well as from the south via Motorway E45.
Aalborg Airport offers daily flights to and from the airports in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Malaga, New York, Oslo, and London from where you can reach other international airports directly.
Aalborg Airport is located just 6 kilometres from the city centre and public transportation will bring you there in just 15 minutes.

The tickets can be booked via: the dedicated Air France or KLM websites and by applying the unique event ID code during the check-out process, as specified in the event related PDF.
Proof of attendance-fare eligibility
At any point of their journey, passengers must be able to justify the usage of the discounted Air France-KLM Global Meetings & Events fares by showing a proof of attendance to the registered event, for example an invitation letter or entrance ticket.

The unique Internet Discount Code is only available if the ticket is booked in EUR (€) currency via the airfrance.com or the klm.com website. If you reside in a non EUR currency country, please change the website to a country with EUR currency.

Good to know

Change in the team lineup or out of the tournament early? With SAS Sport, you can rebook and change your name free of charge. The price is also discounted and lower than tickets with similar flexibility.
Extra baggage
Many sports require extra baggage for equipment. SAS Sport includes two pieces of baggage of 23 kg per person.
One of these can be, for example be a ski bag, bicycle, golf bag or other equipment within a certain size.
Special baggage
If you are traveling with sports equipment, you must register it as special baggage. If you are traveling as a group with several packs of sports equipment, you must register the baggage in the booking before departure. You can register your special baggage here.
Group travel
Groups of more than 9 people must be booked through a travel agency or booked through the SAS group department. Remember to use the assigned Sport code (CSITG27).

How does it work?
Book
When you are on the website www.sas.dk/rejseinfo/sportsbilletter, press «Search». Alternatively, you can apply for a group booking. To proceed to the booking, you must enter the Sport code (CSITG27) that you have received from SAS. You can also select your organization in the scroll list below. After that, you will proceed to the ticket booking.
Travel
Time to travel! You can find your ticket in your SAS app or email. There you also have the option to change or cancel your ticket up to 24 hours before your trip. If you are traveling with special baggage, remember to confirm it before departure without an extra fee.

Transport from Aalborg Airport
Getting from Aalborg Airport to the city centre is quick and easy.
The travel time is approximately 11 minutes by train, 15-20 minutes by bus, and 10-15 minutes by taxi.
Travel by:
The bus stop is located directly outside the terminal and will take you to the city centre in just a few minutes.
The bus will stop at J. F. Kennedys Plads, Aalborg’s main public transport hub, where you can easily connect to another bus if your hotel is not within walking distance.
Price
As a participant in the CSIT World Sports Games 2027, you can travel free of charge on the city buses.
Tickets
Show your participant badge when boarding the bus.
Travelling by train to and from Aalborg Airport is easy and convenient. Aalborg Airport Station is located just a short walk from the terminal, allowing you to reach the platform quickly and comfortably.
Price
Ticket prices depend on your destination, the distance travelled, and the type of ticket you choose. As a guideline, an adult ticket from Aalborg Airport Station to the city center (J. F. Kennedys Plads) costs DKK 24.
Tickets
There are two ways to purchase a ticket:
- Buy a single ticket with the RejseBillet app and pay in advance by payment card.
- Purchase a ticket from the ticket machine at the station using a payment card.
Please remember to purchase a ticket before boarding the train.
Travel by
Aalborg has a partnership with Lime Bike, making it possible to rent shared electric bicycles in Aalborg and Nørresundby.
Shared e-bikes provide a convenient alternative to cars and buses for visitors who need to get around the city.
The distinctive bikes feature a user-friendly design. They are equipped with a front basked for bags and personal belongings, as well as a mobile phone holder, integrated front and rear lights, and a rear brake light for increased visibility and safety.
Price
Lime charges a fixed unlocking fee for each vehicle, as well as per-minute riding fee. Prices may vary depending on location and time of day. Ride time is rounded up to the nearest full minute. The applicable price is displayed in the app before you begin your ride.
The current standard rate is DKK 10 to unlock a bike and DKK 2.90 per minute. Minute bundles can also be purchased, reducing the average cost to approximately DKK 1 per minute.
How to use
Download the Lime app, create an account, locate a nearby bike on the map, and scan the QR code to unlock it.
You may ride on cycle paths and roads. Please note that Lime Bikes may only be used and parked within the designated operating area in Aalborg and Nørresundby, as shown in the app.
The app is available for both IOS and Android.
The city’s public bus network provides easy transportation to alle sports venues.
Participants can use the buses free of charge throughout the event by simply showing their participant badge.
It is easy to plan the trip by using the app “Rejseplanen” or Google Maps. The app “Rejseplanen” is available for both IOS and Android.
